The problem

At Nyabugogo, touts grab travelers’ bags and sell seats in private cars, often at close to double the normal fare. No app identifies these cars or links them to riders.

What we built

  • A rider app: one seat from Kigali to Rubavu is 12,000 RWF.
  • Booking by SMS in Kinyarwanda on phones without internet, and by WhatsApp.
  • A driver app with payouts by MoMo.
  • Only licensed passenger vehicles, through licensed operators.

How it works

  1. Pick a route and a seat.
  2. Pay with MoMo and get the pickup point.
  3. When the car is full, it leaves.
